MORE than 200 people are expected to attend an agro business forum in Harare to discuss ways of improving the sector. The Zimbabwe Agribusiness Forum to be held in November is being organised by Deat Capital. The company’s managing director, Mr Nicky Moyo, said both local and international delegates would attend the forum.

“We have targeted around 200 local, regional and international delegates and the registration process is on course,” he said.
Mr Moyo said the forum was an opportunity for farmers and other stakeholders to meet and share ideas on how the agribusiness sector could be improved.

“The forum provides participants with an opportunity to hear first-hand information about case-studies, success stories and the latest projects and innovations aimed at improving the Zimbabwe agribusiness sector,” he said.

He said the forum would bring together different stakeholders in the sector to discuss on how to develop the whole agricultural sector.
“The event will bring together private sector operators, government officials, development finance institutions, agronomists, economists and engineers to explore and discuss the way forward to significantly develop Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector at all levels of the value-chain,” he said.

Mr Moyo said the forum would also give participants an opportunity to network and showcase their products and services.
“Participants will have access to a unique networking platform, as well as the opportunity to showcase products and services within a large exhibition space,” he said.

He called on all players in the agricultural sector to attend the forum as it will be of relevance to them.
“Those attending will enjoy the benefit of meeting key decision makers, examine opportunities for trade and investment, and explore the role of technological innovation and mechanisation in enhancing agricultural productivity,” said Mr Moyo.

He said the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Mechanisation will set the tone for the event.
The forum will run under the theme, “Boosting Agriculture through Partnerships, Investment and Technology.”
