MORE than 37 000 employers are now using the National Social Security Authority’s digital platform, highlighting growing adoption of technology-driven social security services as the Authority intensifies its digital transformation programme.
In an interview, NSSA General Manager Dr Charles Shava said the Employer Portal, which was launched in 2021, has become a key pillar of the Authority’s efforts to modernise service delivery and strengthen engagement with employers.
The revelation comes as NSSA launched its new Online Claims Portal, a platform designed to allow beneficiaries to submit and track claims electronically.
According to Dr Shava, the claims portal is the latest addition to an increasingly integrated digital ecosystem that already supports employer contributions, pensions administration and compliance monitoring.
“Beyond the Online Claims Portal, which builds on the Employer Portal launched in 2021 and now used by over 37 000 employers, NSSA’s next phase of digital transformation is focused on deepening integration and enhancing intelligence across its services,” he said.
Dr Shava said pensions administration, employer contributions and compliance monitoring are already being managed within a unified system.
He said the Authority’s next focus is on deploying intelligent technologies that can improve efficiency, automate routine processes and strengthen fraud detection capabilities.
The move comes as public institutions increasingly adopt digital solutions to improve service delivery, accountability and operational efficiency.
According to NSSA, future upgrades will include enhanced integration with both internal and external systems to facilitate seamless exchange of information with financial institutions and Government agencies.
Such integration is expected to reduce processing times, improve compliance monitoring and provide stakeholders with faster access to services.
Dr Shava said the Authority is also working to create a more connected digital environment capable of delivering improved convenience and accessibility for contributors and beneficiaries.
In addition to improving efficiency, the digital systems are expected to strengthen compliance oversight and support more effective management of social security contributions.
The Authority has also indicated that intelligent technologies will play an increasingly important role in identifying irregularities and strengthening fraud prevention mechanisms.
As NSSA expands its digital footprint, officials say the long-term objective is to build a seamless and user-centred platform capable of serving employers, workers, pensioners and beneficiaries through integrated digital channels.
The latest developments position NSSA among public institutions embracing technology to modernise service delivery and respond to changing stakeholder expectations in an increasingly digital economy.
