ZIFA Matabeleland North Province Division Two Soccer League outfit Mosi Rovers made headlines with a record highest ever scoring win in this league’s history on Saturday. They cruised to a 11-1 victory over town rivals Corinthians in a match played at Chinotimba Stadium in Victoria Falls. Hat-tricks by Munyaradzi Muchenje and Leibo Chiyoko, braces by Ndabazo Ndlovu and Arnold Sibanda and another a goal by Tyson Ncube completed the demolition show.
On the upper echelons of the table, the fierce battle for honours continued as Ingagula regained top spot thanks to a 3-1 win over fourth placed Baobab Rovers. Trinity Ndoro, John Chinyerere and Gift Nyoni were on target with Govern Sikapila grabbing the consolation for Rovers.
Moto Moto and Trumus Warriors, second and third on the log respectively, played to a 1-1 draw at Chinotimba Stadium in a pulsating encounter which saw Shaibar Dimingu scoring for the soldiers while Warriors replied through Clyvine Sibanda.
At Old ground, visiting Dete side Hotspurs Leopards trounced hapless Blackrock 3-0 with the goals coming from Marshal Makwasha, Benkinkosi Gumbi and Terrence Netha. Prison outfit Tenex FC hammered Chipangano developmental side Hwange U-17 3-0 at the Prison ground with the goals Kudakwashe Tarusarira, Kudawashe Tichagwa and Othaniel Mwembe hitting the nets.
On Sunday, a cracking Vic Falls derby saw Classic Luyando edge Amagagasi U-19 2-1 courtesy of regular goal getter Naboth Sibanda brace. Antony Sibanda scored for Amagagasi U-19 who are suddenly off form.
The woes continued for bottom side Iwisa who were again beaten 2-0 by visiting Lukhosi Pirates at Lwendulu Old ground who prevailed through goals from Alexis Munsaka and Edwin Mumpande.
