Mother (23) pleads guilty to infanticide

The 23 year old mother who strangled her son soon after birth and threw away the corpse at a dump site has pleaded guilty to the offence.

Nancy Chitsiga who initially appeared in court on Tuesday, was back in court today for bail application but ended up pleading to the charge.

Prosecutor Thomas Chanakira applied to have the matter remanded to August 2 to allow the State sufficient time to obtain the post mortem results.
