Macheso releases list of 13th album songs

ACE sungura musician, Alick Macheso, has released a list of the songs on his 13th album, which is set to drop this Friday at Alex Sports Club in Harare.

Macheso has named the six-track album ‘Kupa Kuturika’.

The songs on the album are ‘Kuverengera’, ‘Undiregererewo’, ‘Zvichada Hama’, ‘Murangarire’, ‘Kunditaya’ and ‘Hunhu Hwakashata’.

The longest song on the album is ‘Zvichada Hama’ (10:43) while the shortest is ‘Kunditaya’ (5:35).

The album was produced at his Alema Studios and it was mixed and mastered by veteran Bothwell Nyamhondera.

Macheso’s die-hard fans are anticipating a return to the good old days when the musician used to churn out super hits which made him scale up the ladder on the local music scene.

Speaking through their publicist, Tich Makahamadze, the Macheso camp said it’s all systems go for the much-anticipated launch.

“We are ready for the launch and encourage all our fans to get their advance tickets in time to avoid delays at the gate.

“It’s going to be a full house and all the supporting acts have confirmed their availability to be part of the album launch,” said Makahamadze.

He said they have included an A-list of supporting act which includes Enzo IshalI, Feli Nandi, Andy Muridzo, the Chillspot Family and his two sons, who front Cheso Boys. The camp is optimistic Macheso’s 13th project will evoke nostalgia among his legion of fans.

Macheso is expected to visit Dzivaresekwa today where he plans to drill a borehole for the community which embraced him when he first came to Harare.

Tickets for the show are going for US$10 and US$20 for the VIP section.
