A man of violent nature has been brought before the courts when the mother sought the court’s intervention. Lilian Mariana Jumbo approached the Mutare Civil Court seeking protection against her son, Skosani whom she accused of disrespecting her as a mother. “When he is drunk he shouts vulgar words at me. He destroys property Your Worship,” she said.
Lilian told Mrs Vanencia Mugota that Skosani is disrespectful.
“At one instance Your Worship, he brought charms which he placed in the house. I don’t know what he is doing with the charms. He told me that he wanted to burn down the house and property if anyone attempts to take his charms away.
“He insults me calling me disrespectful names. He beats anyone who tries to control him when he is drunk. He is uncontrollable Your Worship,” she said.
She told the court that she was now living in fear because of her son’s behaviour.
Skosani did not oppose his mother’s claims against him.
“It is because of beer Your Worship. I am now deciding to stop drinking,” he said.
Mrs Mugota granted the peace order in favour of Lilian.
