Hilda Mapfukudzwa appeared before Harare Civil Court Magistrate Ms Johanna Mukweshe seeking a protection order against her daughter, Itai Mapfukudzwa, who she accused of hitting, stabbing and insulting her.

“One time she stabbed my hand with a screwdriver and I was badly injured. She calls me a prostitute in front of my neighbours,” she said.

She told the court that Itai breaks into her house when she leaves for work and steals her property and money.

“I don’t stay with her, so she breaks into my house with her boyfriends when I am at work, takes my property and sells it, she even steals my money,” she said.

“I want the court to bar her from coming to steal at my house when I am not there. She should also be barred from insulting and hitting me,” she said.

Itai did not come to court and Magistrate Makumbe granted a protection order in favour of Hilda, which restrains her from insulting, assaulting or going to her house with intentions of violence.
