Mother Touch history in brief

Having spent nearly three years in deep prayer to God asking Him for the right kind of business that will see her fulfil God’s purpose, God answered her in the year 1996. God gave her the vision to start her own Early Childhood Development Centre (ECD) of which she obeyed and executed that following year.

In 1997, ECD started at Marimba with 45 children. Because of her obedience, God made sure that the business would flourish from the start that even on the opening day of ECD Centre 45 children enrolled that day henceforth the number never subsided. Because of her firm belief and conviction that in this whole wide world, except for God’s love, there was nothing which could surpass a mother’s love and touch, hence she named the ECD centre Mother Touch.

In the year 1999, after two years of operating at New Marimba Park, another ECD branch was built in Tynwald South. It was not long until parents realised that motherly love and touch was only unique to Mother Touch Institute hence they raised a lamentation to Mrs Salome Mutsinze to consider starting a primary school to perpetuate the continuous growth of their children in an enabling environment. Riding on the waves of change, she made an application to the Ministry of Education, Sports, Arts and Culture for permission to start a junior school at her Tynwald South establishment.

Unfortunately, the permission to start a junior school at 2266 Tynwald South was denied with the Ministry citing issues of space inadequacy to accommodate a junior school. Alternatively, the Ministry encouraged her to start a college for secondary level pupils and she hearkened in 1999.

This, however, did not kill her dream to establish a primary school; hence she made an application to the council for a junior school stand. Two years later in 2001, with God’s grace, Mrs Salome Mutsinze got a big enough piece of land on which the junior school was to be later built.

The payment and all paper work to fully own the land took her seven good years to complete. This endurance showed that she was a woman of Vision who was determined to see her dreams come true under whatever cost. The year 2009 became the preamble for the junior school establishment.

On a Sunday afternoon on the July 5, 2009 a major step towards the establishment of the junior was taken. In that afternoon, a mighty man of God Durajadi Simba the pastor of Mrs Salome and Mr Mike Emison Mutsinze took their priestly role of dedicating the building of the junior school to God. The spiritual foundation was laid on the scripture in Isaiah 28vsl6 which says, “I am laying a foundation stone in Jerusalem it is firm, a tested corner stone which is safe to build on”.

Commenting on this significant event, Mrs Salome Mutsinze gave reference to the biblical book of Psalms 127 which reads: “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city the watchman stand at guard in vain.”
