Mother Touch Group of Schools soccer team will have an opportunity of a lifetime when they tour Manchester later this year.
A group 20 will get first hand appreciation of how sport has become a career in July.
As part of the tour, the school’s soccer team is to visit the iconic stadiums of two of UK biggest football clubs and arch rivals Manchester City and Manchester United.
Mother Touch Group of Schools, Sports Director Nyasha Kadenge said this is a big opportunity for participants.
“It is true that our school’s soccer team will tour Manchester later this year,” she said.
“As a school we are really excited with the tour as it allows our children to get a first-hand appreciation of how sport has become an industry itself.”
The team will have an opportunity to play friendly matches against Sheffield United and Leeds United Emerging teams as part of the tour.
“The Manchester tour is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students.
“From touring iconic stadiums like Old Trafford and Etihad, to competing against teams such as Sheffield United and Leeds United emerging sides, and engaging in cultural exchanges with Zimbabwean legends in the UK—these experiences will inspire our students both athletically and personally,” said Kadenge.
The school has since partnered with Chas Everitt who will cater for tickets of some of the players.
“This partnership is more than just a sponsorship—it is a testament to the power of collaboration between education and community-driven enterprises.
“This support has provided our young athletes with essential resources, including tracksuits, t-shirts, soccer balls, and a complete kit, which will not only equip them for success on the field but also fill them with pride as they represent our school and nation abroad,” said Kadenge.
