Moto Moto blistering hot

ARMY side Moto Moto appear to have learnt many lessons from a nightmarish 2014 season as they have made a blistering start to the Zifa Mat North Division Two league to top the table as action rolled into Week Four over the weekend.

The soldiers’ rifles were blazing as they hammered Victoria Falls based Amagagasi U-19 at Sports Pavilion on Saturday with goals from Willard Bembenene, Nomatter Mwembe and Gift Sibanda.

Second placed Vic Falls Tigers also kept the fire burning with a 1-0 victory over Ingagula with Bryan Giant getting the important goal to maintain their unbeaten start and with an advantage of a game in hand over Moto Moto.

Not to be outdone, third placed Baobab Rovers added salt to league anchors Blackrock’s wounds with a 2-1 home win courtesy of goals by regular goal getters Shaun Pumulo and Dingani Maphosa while Blackrock got their goal from Clifford Phiri.

In other matches over the weekend, there was no class on display as Makwika United clobbered visiting Classic Luyando 3-0 at Makwika Stadium with Felix Chipendo, Michael Munenge and Given Nyambe taking part in the demolition show.

ZRP Hwange, who together with Prison Eagles are lagging behind on games due to national duty commitments, edged Kamandama Celtics 1-0 with Denzel Kutadza hitting the target for Tazvivinga Gweme coached policemen.

Eagles shared the spoils with Iwisa in a 1-1 draw, with the warders getting their goal from George Tshuma while David Majoni scored for Tafi Nengasha’s lads.

A clash between Zambezi Lions and newboys Lukhosi Pirates in the resort town ended in a 1-1 statemate with Fredrick Phiri and Justin Sibanda scoring for Lions and Pirates respectively.
