Motocross Southern Africa Challenge on cards

Sports Reporter

PROFESSIONAL golfer Brendon de Jonge is racing against time to save his USPGA Tour card at today’s Wyndham Championship, which tees off at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, Chicago, United States. The local professional missed out on both the Travelers Challenge and recently the John Deer Classic in the past two weeks but is expected to have a respectable finish this time around.De jonge was the first player to specifically cite that he could not take part in this year’s Rio Olympics as it would deprive him of his full playing privileges for next year.

The top professional golfer has missed the cut 11 times in 29 attempts this year, plunging to No 153 in the FedEx Cup standings.

Only the top 125 get into the FedEx Cup playoffs and keep their full cards for the next season.

Because The Greenbrier Classic was cancelled due to flooding, and de Jonge is not in the final major of the year, he had only five events left and they have since reduced to three.

De Jonge has finished among the top 100 each of the past six years but things were not the same this time around. Talking ahead after announcing his pull out the burly Zimbabwean said the reason for my decision is not my concern about the Zika virus he said then.
