This brand of cars is probably the most promising of all the cars made in Africa right now.

Apostle Dr Kwadwo Sago, who is also the founder and owner of the Kantanka Group of Companies, is the brains behind the car.

He is described as being naturally gifted, a genius, an inventor and a philanthropist. Dr Sago has no formal or sophisticated technical background.

It is believed that he imagines, dreams and creates at will.

Innoson – Nigeria

On their website Innoson says: “ We are the premiere private vehicle manufacturing company in Nigeria. Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company was commissioned by His Excellency, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.”

Goodluck Jonathan is the former president of Nigeria who has since been replaced by Muhammadu Buhari.

Chief (Dr) Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma is the founder and developer at Innoson, a Nigerian homegrown car company.

The enterprising company has been able to develop some exciting models and some of them are already on the road.

In fact, they are now on sale.

Kiira EV SMACK — Uganda

This is a car developed in Uganda by Kiira Motors Corporation (KMC). It is the brainchild of a group of Ugandan students.

This car is a hybrid car, which means it combines the benefits of gasoline engines and electric motors and can be configured to obtain different objectives, such as improved fuel economy, increased power, or additional auxiliary power for electronic devices and power tools, according to Mojabuzz

When it retails, it will sets you back by US$30 000.

To its credit, it looks sleek.

The jury is out there, the success of these cars depends on the uptake by Africans and to some extent the ability of the developers to drum up capital. — Howafrica.com/Ghanaweb
