Delegates, including the senior leadership of the Women’s League, are slowly filling the seats inside the venue.
Earlier on, members of the Women’s League broke into song and dance, celebrating the enactment of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 3) Act.
Ahead of today’s meeting, Zanu PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona challenged league members to begin preparations for inter-district meetings and ensure that provinces submit practical resolutions for consideration at the national conference.
She said the Women’s League should produce accurate reports detailing the number of people who have benefited from empowerment initiatives and the progress made in recruiting new voters.

Women’s League paint party headquarters in colour
The air at Zanu PF’s party headquarters in Harare feels thick with expectation as the senior leadership of the Women’s League takes their positions.
The delegates who have already arrived are seen mingling, some adjusting their beautiful headscarves and colourful clothes.
At the front, a stage area stands ready, elevated just enough to make every movement of the podium unmistakable.
Outside, the city’s mid-morning noise seems muffled – like Harare has paused at the gates to listen.
Within the party headquarters, though, the energy keeps building.

President Mnangagwa arrives
President Mnangagwa has arrived at the Zanu PF Headquarters in Harare for the ruling party’s Women’s League meeting.
The President is now in a briefing and is expected to enter the venue soon for his address.
The meeting is expected to start soon, with delegates already seated.
Rousing welcome for Cde Mnangagwa
There is great jubilation as President Mnangagwa has entered the venue at the Zanu PF Headquarters in Harare, signalling the official start of the ruling party’s Women’s League meeting.
Women’s League shows strong support for CAA3
Song, high-energy dances and spirited slogans have set the tone at the Zanu PF Women’s League meeting that is underway in Harare as delegates from the party’s 10 provinces turned introductions into a colourful display of support for Constitutional Amendment Act No.3.
As the provinces introduced themselves, they added unique chants to show support for CAA3.
One province emphatically declared, “CAB3 wamutemo,” prompting loud applause from the gathering.
Another delegation broke into song, chanting: “VaMnangagwa tiyambutseiwo rwizi, baba tiyambutseiwo,” as members swayed and clapped in rhythm.
Midlands Province drew enthusiastic cheers with its declaration: “Hamuende baba hamusati mapedza.”
Not to be outdone, Mashonaland East Province had delegates smiling as they quipped: “Vanongoramba vachingotonga havo baba.”
Matabeleland North rounded off the sequence with a strong declaration: “Baba vedu tisu takavatuma kutonga nyika.”
The impromptu performances injected colour and energy into the proceedings, with delegates rising to dance, wave party regalia and respond to the chants in unison.
The meeting has brought together Women’s League members from all 10 provinces ahead of the party’s forthcoming National People’s Conference.
Women’s League praises national development, women empowerment projects
Zanu PF Women’s League provincial chairs have commended President Mnangagwa for championing various national development and women empowerment projects.
The women specifically praised the construction of Sepa Dam in Rushinga, Kunzvi in Harare, Muchekeranwa and Gwayi Shangani, saying this is addressing the water shortages that have affected women for a long time.
Construction of major roads and bridges was also praised.
Turning to the economy, the women also applauded the stabilisation of the ZiG, highlighting that this had brought relief and stability, particularly to women-led households.
The Women’s League also congratulated President Mnangagwa for the country’s election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Women’s League pledges support for President Mnangagwa
Zanu PF Women’s League Secretary Cde Mabel Chinomona has applauded President Mnangagwa for consistently prioritising issues affecting women.
She said the Women’s League is one of the party wings that has been been empowered through land, funds, women quotas and legislation.
“It is a great joy for women whenever you are present for our programmes,” she said.
“The Women’s League pledges to support you. You see us as humans and respect us. You have shown that the real transformation of a society begins with women.”
Cde Chinomona said the Women’s League will continue with party activities, including grassroots mobilisation.
‘Women’s League a dependable pillar of the party’
President Mnangagwa has called on the Zanu PF Women’s League to expand its role beyond party mobilisation to promoting strong families, community development and national progress.
Speaking at the Women’s League meeting this afternoon, President Mnangagwa reiterated Government’s commitment to empowering women across the country under the Second Republic.
He commended members for their unwavering support for the ruling party and urged them to continue strengthening the party from the grassroots.
The President praised the Women’s League for its dedication and loyalty, saying it has remained a dependable pillar of the party.
“Your patriotism and loyalty to the party is exemplary, I thank you,” he said.
“I encourage you to continue on this path, particularly in grassroots mobilisation and growth of the party membership.
President Mnangagwa said while the Women’s League plays a critical role in advancing the party’s programmes, its influence should also be felt in promoting strong families, community development and national progress.
“Your duties extend beyond the party and have far reaching impact on families.”
He reiterated that Government remains committed to empowering women across the country, adding that no group of women will be left behind under the Second Republic.
The President said Government has deliberately created opportunities for women to participate in the country’s socio-economic transformation.
He went on to call on women to take full advantage of those initiatives.
President Mnangagwa said the nation should unite in pursuing the country’s development aspirations.
“Let us build the Zimbabwe we want. The Government has opened up opportunities,” he said.
