Movie tackles cultural beliefs

A MOVIE series titled ‘‘Mainini’’, which tackles cultural beliefs, has hit the streets with two of its seasons already making waves.

The movie, which is courtesy of Trueman Chikukwa and Simon Jamukoko, talks about how societies believe in inheritance.

Produced by South Africa-based film producer, Jamukoko Media, the movie features a variety of actors from South Africa and Zimbabwe.

“The movie tackles inheritance issues where a young sister was impregnated by her sister’s husband when they were staying together.

“Following the pregnancy, she decided to kill her sister.

“She later killed her before the family decided to make her inherit but she did not have peace since her sister would not give her rest,” said Jamukoko.

He said it’s not easy to make a production.

“It’s been a hard mission to accomplish, bringing a complete Season 1 of Mainini series but we have struggled to make it and it seemed to be our breakthrough, unlocking new levels for our production company.

“We have been facing many challenges to come up with the best movie which can impress our viewers as we value their support.

“We managed to complete a season with 6 Episodes, all having a minimum viewership of twenty thousand on YouTube, which was a success. The full pack of the first season turns out to be more interesting as evidenced by the fans’ demand for Season 2,” he said.

Jamukoko said it’s not easy to impress viewers.

“It’s been so hard for us to be back on set but through the help of William Gift Civil, who is sponsoring us, we have managed to.

“We are promising magic and enjoyment on the upcoming project.

“All we can say is be ready for it on March 3, and our main motive is to help the community and educate it on day-to-day life affecting events. Enjoyment is guaranteed and the team is all set.”

The team recently made some noise with the movie ‘‘Rudo Ndimambo’’.
