A LOCAL movie, which encourages cultural and heritage preservation, has been released.
The movie is titled ‘Mavambo: Cultural Epic’.
It focuses on cultural and heritage preservation and it was written and produced by Brian Kugara and Abiatha Mugadza.
“This is an appreciation of traditional values.
“The story highlights the importance of cultural heritage and traditional values, encouraging audiences, especially today’s generation to appreciate and respect their own cultural roots.
“Mavambo helps to preserve our country’s history.
“It also contributes to the preservation of cultural knowledge and traditions,” said Mugadza.
He said the story also emphasises the significance of family unity and togetherness in the face of adversity.
“The movie calls for respect for elders, the character of Baba Mugoni represents the importance of respecting and honouring one’s elders and traditions.
“It delves into themes of faith, spirituality and the supernatural, encouraging audiences to reflect on their own beliefs and values.”
He said Mavambo has the potential to make a significant impact on society.
“I have partnered with the producers of Murindagomo and Pero and I have done feature movies like Ndozvamada and Shungu Dzemoyo and I have also featured in ZBC projects such as Dry Jokes Comedy Show, Buddyz for Luv talk show.
“My first born is also part of the cast and this movie will be released mid-December.
“I also have some projects to be released in December which include You and Me, Ranco, My Last Wish, and Can of Worms.
The movie talks about the ancestral land of Guruswa where a mystical voice commands Baba Mugoni to abandon his homeland. While his sons obediently follow the youngest rebels against the unknown forces guiding their journey.
As they venture into the unknown, the Mugoni family faces treacherous obstacles, testing their unity and resolve.
The gods of Mugoni unleash fierce battles to protect the family but the question remains: Whose voice is leading the way?
The movie stars Rightime Rwamozora Masango, Meck Matsvai, Israel Chirowodza, Benhilda Galimoto Mutukura and Charity Mugadza.
