Moyo in Jomic committee

Jomic is responsible for monitoring the implementation and compliance of the three main parties to the Global Political Agreement.

Jomic spokesperson Mr Joram Nyathi yesterday confirmed the development but said Prof Moyo was still to begin his duties.
“Yes he was seconded but we are yet to see him at Jomic,” Mr Nyathi said.
Prof Moyo yesterday said he was already acquainting himself with what had been covered so far.

“I am reading things because I don’t want to start from a tabla rasa (blank slate) since other members have been in it for some time now,” he said.
“I will be serving in the media and sanctions committee and I have been consulting with Cde Oppah Muchinguri and other members of the committee.”

He said Jomic just like the GPA was living on stolen time which would see the two disappearing when a Government is in place after the impending harmonised elections set for early next year. Other Zanu-PF members in Jomic are Cde Muchinguri, Justice and Legal Affairs Minister Patrick Chinamasa and Transport, Communication and Infrastructure Development Minister Nicholas Goche (Zanu-PF) while MDC-T is represented by Finance Minister Tendai Biti, Economic Planning and Investment Promotion Minister Elton Mangoma and Ms Tabitha Kuala.

The other MDC formation is represented by Industry and Commerce Minister Professor Welshman Ncube and Regional Integration and International Co-operation Minister Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga.
