SOUTH Africa-based Zimbabwean Afro-pop musician Clara “Nozukile” Moyo has released her debut eight- track album titled Ntshanyana.
Nozukile who is back in the country to market her album said she was at home to introduce herself.“The wait is over and this is a dream come true for me. Fans have been asking about the album after its failed launch in April but now it is available,” said Nozukile.
She said from the age of nine her dream has always been to be a singer as she would lock herself in her room and sing in front of a mirror.
“I met Thomas “Tafula” Madhiba, a South African producer, in 2011. He took me under his wings and nurtured my talent. For two years I worked as a backing vocalist for his band in South Africa. We used to hold shows with the likes of Kanda Bongo Man, Zozo and Beria. I learnt a lot from such interaction and I am using that experience,” she said.
The Pumula born artiste said her album features another South African musician Priscilla Buthelezi on some of the tracks. Nozukile thanked the local musicians’ representative board, Bulawayo Musicians Association (BMA) for helping her since her return.
“I am busy registering my music and local guys such as Khuxman and Pozee have been so helpful. I will be holding shows in the country soon and I want to take this genre to another level,” she said.
