He comes up against a veteran of 26 fights who has fought on the continent and Europe with relative success.
“I will fight Joseph Chingangu of Zambia on 4 October. I know the boxer because he fought Thamsanqa Dube, the Zimbabwe heavyweight champion,” said Moyo.
He said he would go into the fight with an idea of what to expect of the man who enjoys a 198cm reach span and is much taller than him.
“The Bulawayo Bomber” as Moyo is called in some circles, said he had a lot of respect for the former African champion. “I have seen a video where he fought in the UK and he has achieved a lot as a sportsman. So all that makes it very important that I win. He is highly rated so he will elevate me to greater heights in my career,” said Moyo whose new boxing ring name is Elev8, a product that he is promoting in Gauteng. He said he was training twice a day. “I am training twice a day and to counter the 16 months’ rust I have been active in sparring six rounds every day from Monday to Saturday,” said Moyo.
The Zimbabwean boxer gave up fighting in the cruiserweight division after he felt he could not keep his weight under 91kg which is the weight limit.
