MOZAMBIQUE and Zambia clash in their penultimate 2015 Africa Cup qualifier today in a battle for second place in Group F.
The Mambas and Chipolopolo head into the match at Estádio Nacional do Zimpeto In Maputo tied on five points, four points behind leaders Cape Verde who have already qualified with two games in hand.
Zambia edge Mozambique into second place only on goal difference after four rounds of matches played.
Chipolopolo also visit The Mamba’s on a high after beating bottom placed Niger 3-0 on October 15 in Ndola that saw them pick up their first Group F win to put their 2015 qualifiers back on track.
“It was a good motivator its good for the boys to believe that they can do it but that game is behind us,” Janza said.
“The boys know what is at stake. We will approach the Mozambique game with the respect the game deserves.”
Expectations are also high for Zambia to redeem themselves against Mozambique who held them to a scoreless draw in the first leg meeting on September 7 in Ndola.
An away victory with a healthy scoreline this weekend will see Zambia qualify on goal difference with a game to spare ahead of Wednesday grudge match against Cape Verde in Ndola.
Meanwhile, Mozambique coach Joao Chissano returns to the comfort of Maputo after The Mambas suffered their first Group F loss on October 15 following a 1-0 away defeat to Cape Verde in Praia.
Chissano said he still wary of Zambia who have made four big changes to the team they faced in the first leg including inspirational captain Christopher Katongo, Collins Mbesuma and Jacob Mulenga.
“Zambia is not affected in any way by the dropping of Katongo. They have a lot of good players and I’m sure the coach has picked the best,” Chissano said.
“For us, we are not looking at any player. We are concentrating on Zambia as a team.”
