THE Bulawayo social football league is graced with a clinical care team called Mpilo United.
The team is made up of doctors, pharmacists, nurses and students on attachment.
They play in the Bulawayo Amateurs Football Association league.
The team’s captain, Tichaona Chisi, said the social league has helped them relate with members of the community.
“The social league has helped us to have a different view of what is out there in the communities,” he said.
“We now have a better view and it has enabled us to connect with patients.
“It has also strengthened our bond as workmates.
“We now go and play on the same field with our bosses and it has made life better at work because of the interactions we have during social football moments.”
He said they also field some players outside their field for depth.
Chisi said his team does not focus much on results, but on keeping workmates in a healthy state.
