Mpofu finishes sixth in Boston Marathon

CRACK Zimbabwe marathon runner and reigning Athlete of the Year, Isaac Mpofu finished a magnificent sixth in the Boston Marathon yesterday, in a time of two hours eight minutes 17 seconds, to chop off his time of two hours 14 minutes run last year, which earned him ninth place.

His position and improved time is giving Zimbabweans hope to believe in the Paris Olympic bound athlete that he could make history and finish in the top five, a first in the event.

Last month, Mpofu beat a strong field of African champions at the Ghana African Games, to win bronze in the Half Marathon.
