Debating President Mugabe’s speech made in Parliament last year, Kadoma Central representative Mrs Editor Matamisa (MDC-T) said the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces had categorically slammed all forms of violence.
“The President spoke on non-violence and tolerance and as leaders and honourable MPs we should be at the forefront in condemning violence and be exemplary.
“We mourn the death of our member who died for his political beliefs. It is even more painful when members of this House are alleged to be involved because as leaders we should be controlling our supporters,” she said.
According to the MDC-T, Mudzi North and Mudzi West legislators Cdes Newten Kachepa and Aquillinah Katsande’s vehicles were allegedly used during the violent skirmishes. Zanu-PF Muzarabani representative Cde Edward Raradza condemned violence in all its forms but said police should be left to carry out their work.
