In the plush and glamorous world of music, where egos often clash, the latest spat that has become a juicier feud in showbiz is between United Kingdom-based hit maker Xosti and producer Mr Brown.

After producing a hit song for him titled Khwamashede which also features South Africa’s hottest music divas — the Q Twins, Xosti is not happy about Mr Brown’s behaviour, as he dismissed him as arrogant.

Despite the success of the catchy tune, currently in position two on the most played song in South African radio charts, you’d think that after producing such a smash hit, Mr Brown will be basking in the glory, but instead, he’s caught a bad case of being egocentric.

Mr Brown

Because of that, Xosti is giving the producer a serious dressing down.
Xosti’s candid remarks have thrown some serious shade on Mr Brown, claiming that he’s “arrogant” and “overrated.”
Speaking from what seems to be a place of frustration, Xosti recounted that he first met Mr Brown through Urban Grooves maestro Nox Guni and he thought he was a smart and cool guy, who has unfortunately turned out to be the opposite of that.

“It’s difficult to work with Mr Brown because he undermines other people a lot. When you are around him, he’s constantly reminding you of who he is, as if we all don’t know.

“At one point, he actually mentioned he sells millions (produces hits). And after he mentioned that, I didn’t like working with him because he has a big head,” said Xosti.

As if that is not enough, it seems Mr Brown’s audacity doesn’t stop there.
The self-proclaimed “producer of Makhadzi” apparently sees his talent as a licence to demand the best of the best — perhaps a little too much.

With the song complemented by a beautiful video done by Fortune Films, everyone who played a part on the song is present in the cinematics, except for Mr Brown.

According to Xosti, the only explanation of Mr Brown’s absence from the video is because of him demanding too much.

“We had planned to shoot the music video in Durban and for Mr Brown to come for the shoot, he told me he wants to stay at a five-star hotel. He even wanted to fly first class, whilst in literal sense there is no first-class flight from Johannesburg to Durban.

“He wanted me to book for him at the Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga as he wanted to bring along his family. Remember this was business, not a holiday. At the end of the day we decided that we don’t need him, hence we continued with our shoot with the Q Twins,” said Xosti.
