Gilbert Mutandiro is the defending men’s champion while Sharon Tawengwa is the defending women’s champion.
Mr Pace is an academy based at Fungisai Primary School were they have their offices but registration is being conducted at Betta Ball Sports.
The registration deadline will be this evening.
Mr Pace has managed to attract several long distance runners from Bindura, Binga, Kwekwe and a host of other mining towns.
Collin Makaza, a distinguished athlete during his time, is the founder of the race.
The route will take athletes from Harare to Chitungwiza.
“Having grown in a high density suburb, I think it is proper to show the young athletes in the ghettos that athletics can be rewarding.
“Our aim is to bring athletics to the people,” Makaza said.
A total of 160 athletes are expected to take part in the race.
In its inaugural year, the race attracted 1000 athletes but the numbers have gone down in the past two years. Several athletes from the academy have participated in international races like the Comrades and Two Oceans Marathons.
The academy has also sent participants for races in India and Dubai.
