LOCAL model, Hilda Mwaturura-Minjale, who will be representing Zimbabwe in the Mrs Africa 2016 beauty pageant to be held in Johannesburg in South Africa on December 16, will next Saturday hold a fundraising beauty contest for children in Mutare’s Central Business District.Minjale, in an interview, said only children between the ages of four and 12 were eligible to take part in the contest that is meant to raise funds for vulnerable rural girls as well as her entry fee.

The event will be held at Big C situated behind Premier Medical Aid Services offices.

“The thrust of this foundation is the retention of dignity of young, less privileged girls on the African continent through Dignity Dreams, a non-profit organisation that supplies such girls with washable and reusable sanitary wear.

“Each of the finalists is carrying out her own charity initiatives to help fellow citizens in her country, thus I am inspired to change lives of children of Zimbabwe,” she said.

Hilda, as one of the top 40 finalists who will compete for the prestigious title, is carrying out humanitarian work in Zimbabwe through Mrs Africa Foundation. Minjale recently founded the Jonathan Lowly Fund that seeks to source for funding from donors to assist underprivileged children with school fees and has partnered ELLES Group of Schools to sponsor the education for popular young Diamond FM deejay, Maskedere.
