MRS Zimbabwe Universe 2016 finalist — Tracey-Anne Buckley Agget is set to grace the first ever Fashion Designers Expo for Cancer to be held in Bulawayo in July.

The event is being organised by South Africa-based Zimbabwean model-cum-fashion designer and entrepreneur, Aisha DeBeer.

The expo is being held with the hope of raising awareness about the disease, as well as raising funds for cancer patients in the city and beyond. The expo, which is the first of its kind, will be held on 16 July at the Nesbitt Castle.

DeBeer, warmly known as Aiish, the chief organiser of the event said that the exhibition would not limit designers to showcasing their couture but would be open for sale as well and the proceeds will go towards the cause.

“Items to be showcased during the expo will not only be exhibited but will also be for sale. Proceeds will go towards aiding cancer patients in Bulawayo,” said Aiish.

She highlighted that the expo will also seek to create awareness about cancer, focusing on those that have lost loved ones and those suffering from it.

Aiish noted that the expo will also play as a platform for up-and-coming fashion designers that have never had a chance to showcase their couture.

Aiish mentioned that the expo will also be graced by speakers from Island Hospice, who will give inspirational speeches to those affected by cancer.

Aiish also said that FDE had already begun ticket sales and hoped that people would come to support the cause.
