MULTI-AWARD-WINNING Afro-Hip-Hop sensation Msiz’kay is opening a new chapter in his career after signing a recording and distribution deal with United Kingdom-based label Wavio Records, a move that marks his boldest international step yet.

The development follows his electrifying performance during his UK trip last year, a moment he says set everything in motion. Wavio Records, a small but rapidly growing label operating from Leeds, is steadily building a strong roster of emerging artistes, among them Zulu Bantu, Khayor, Krids and, most recently, Msiz’kay.

“My relationship with Wavio Records began last year when I went to perform in the UK. An old friend, who is based there introduced me to the label founder and we started talking from there,” said Msiz’kay.
He believes the partnership is not only timely but will significantly amplify his reach.

“I believe that my collaboration with them has more to offer, and fans should brace for quality music. I expect the works we’re creating with Wavio to reach my fans all over the world, as the record company has strong distribution statistics.”

Barely a year after cementing the deal, the rapper has already released a new single, Hello, under the stable. The track was produced by Taffy Gee and Msiz’kay, with Tom Prod X of Wavio Records handling the mixing and mastering.

Describing the musical direction of Hello, Msiz’kay said the track merges traditional African rhythms with contemporary Pop and RnB textures, a blend meant to resonate both at home and internationally.

“With Hello, I followed more of a vibe-led writing style, letting the beat lead me as I searched for the words that matched the vibe. I had no idea what the song was going to be until it was complete,” he said.

There is no slowing down for the award-winning artiste, who is already locked in the studio preparing his next project, an EP titled, Walk a Mile in My Shoes.

“Hello is the first single from my upcoming EP, and the production will be dropping next year, around February or March. We are yet to set an exact date. This project is different from my previous offerings because it’s composed mostly in English.

“The main aim is to reach a broader international audience. Most of the production on the EP is by myself and Taffy Gee, and our goal was to craft a globally appealing sound fused with an authentic Msiz’kay vibe,” he added.

Msiz’kay’s vision is clear —introduce the Msiz’kay sound to the UK through Wavio Records and push it across the global music market from there.
