Mubaiwa speaks on Chinyama deal

Dynamos chairman, Kenny Mubaiwa, told The Herald yesterday they were reluctant to issue a clearance before Pirates pay for the striker’s transfer.
DeMbare paid Chinyama US$15 000, when he arrived as a free agent, at the beginning of the year, to tie him to a one-year contract.
The Glamour Boys are set to receive US$75 000 from Pirates.
“The time frame for the payment of Chinyama they proposed is too much,” said Mubaiwa.
“They said they will pay after four to six weeks but other teams finalise such deals in seven days.
“We want them to give us an improved method of payment because we are not sure whether we will get our money if we issue the clearance.
“As soon as they notify us when we can get our money then we can issue him with the clearance straight away.”
Chinyama has already agreed terms with Pirates and has put pen to three-year deal with the Soweto giants and was expected to be unveiled as a Bucs player when all the paperwork, including the securing of a work permit, has been completed.
Chinyama’s move to Pirates signalled a change in transfer policy for the Buccaneers who, in recent years, have been looking beyond Zimbabwe for their foreign players.
The former DeMbare forward, who turns 30 this month, is five years younger than both Benni McCarthy and Siyabonga Nomvethe, the two Golden Oldies who stamped their mark in Super Diski last year.
Chinyama played for Hwange and Monomotapa on the domestic Premiership before linking up with Wieslaw Grabowski who arranged for him to try his luck in Poland
