DEFENDER Alec Mudimu has recovered just in time and has been thrust into the starting 11 for this afternoon’s 2022 World Cup football qualifier against South Africa at the National Sports Stadium.

The match kicks-off at 3pm.

Mudimu has been a huge doubt for the tie after he picked a minor knock yesterday. But the Georgia-based central defender has been cleared to start this afternoon.

He has been paired with Onismor Bhasera at the heart of defence while Takudzwa Chimwemwe and Devine Lunga will occupy the wing-backs in a 4-4-2 structure.

Marshall Munetsi and Thabani Kamusoko will provide a twin defensive shield with captain Knowledge Musona and Kuda Mahachi occupying the flanks.

Poster-boy Khama Billiat has been deployed as the play-maker behind lone striker Tino Kadewere. Big goalkeeper Talbert Shumba retains his place between the sticks.

Warriors Starting 11:
Talbert Shumba, Takudzwa Chimwemwe, Devine Lunga, Alec Mudimu, Onismor Bhasera, Marshall Munetsi, Thabani Kamusoko, Kuda Mahachi, Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat, Tino Kadewere
