Muduhwa weds

HIGHLANDERS star defender, Peter Muduhwa on Friday took the giant step in becoming a family man when he tied the knot with Vanesa Gasela in a court wedding.

Muduhwa is said to have been given a day off from Friday’s training but is expected to attend Saturday’s fine-tuning session ahead of Bosso’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixture against Manica Diamonds at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Highlanders players were on granted Thursday as a day off from training by coach Hendrik Pieter de Jongh and this must have given the 26-year old Muduhwa even ample time to arrange his wedding after a hectic schedule.

Ronald Moyo, the Highlanders media and communications officer Ronald Moyo said the player was given time off to attend to what he called family matters, with the defender expected to train on Saturday.

“He was only excused from training on Friday because he had a family commitment. We expect him at training on Saturday,” Moyo said.

Efforts to get more details from Muduhwa were unsuccessful as his phone was answered by someone who claimed that he had left it for charging.

The Warriors defender has been one of the standout performers for Highlanders, who are yet to taste defeat since De Jongh took over at the end of September. It was his foray upfront which saw Highlanders earn a penalty, which was scored by Ariel Sibanda to secure a 1-1 draw with Ngezi Platinum Stars at Barbourfields in their last home league encounter.
