The San Siro’s strategic location in the vicinity of Hillside range of mountains has also given the new kid on the city’s leisure block a unique and eye-catching look that will surely leave many a patron spellbound.

This place was aptly named San Siro, borrowing from the iconic San Siro Stadium in Italy that is famous for being the home of AC Milan, one of the European nation’s most famous soccer clubs that has a rich history.

Italy’s San Siro stadium is known as the “La Scala of football” for a triad of reasons namely the architectural grandeur of the sporting arena, the great football events it has hosted and also as a nod to a famous opera house in this Italian city of Milan.
Masvingo city’s new San Siro is not a mean feat also from an architectural standpoint and is surely destined to host many memorable nights for Masvingo fun lovers just like its name sake in Italy.
According to Taurai Mudzwiti the proprietor of San Siro, his relentless pursuit to give a new and latest experience to the Masvingo community made him conceive the idea of building the magnificent and towering joint that will surely revolutionarise the entertainment and leisure face of the ancient city.
Mudzwiti says his move to build the San Siro was motivated by the desire to give back to the community that raised him.
And surely giving back he is.
‘’We have also put the latest floor on the market, reno crete because at San Siro we value finesse and we want to be on top of the pack when it comes to giving our patrons the best hospitality there is, we want them to feel at home,’’ he said.
The towering joint will house a liquor store stuffed with all the latest quaffs and brands on the market and a butchery where patrons can be satiated with a wide range of meat products.
‘’We also want the butchery at the ground floor to serve the local community other than our patrons and we are also importing a state of the art ice maker so that we meet all the needs of a modern day patron in terms of food and both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages,’’ said Mr Mudzwiti.
In the first floor both the balcony area and the main bar are being fitted with sit-in tables made of exotic material that will accommodate a combined 101 patrons at any given bar.
The floor in the area is exclusively reno crete, a development Mudzwiti says is aimed at making patrons at San Siro feel very comfortable.
On the northern end of the picturesque San Siro is a kitchen that accommodates the bulk of San Siro’s 20 employees and this is where all the dishes and grilling will be done. There is also a car wash to make sure the place is just a one stop shop.
‘’Besides paying back to the community that sired me, I conceived the San Siro out of a desire to create a place where not only beer drinkers but their families too could come and relax. It is a one size fits all place for those who want to experience the zenith of entertainment and leisure in Masvingo city. We also hope the city fathers will positively answer to our request to lease the front area portion of San Siro so that we can lawn the place and erect gazebos to cater for those clients who want to relax in a more serene environment.’’
Inspired by beauty, Mudzwiti has also imported huge flower pots that will house flowers to make the San Siro environment quite a spectacle with swashbuckling and verdant flowers to completely captivate and mesmerise patrons.
According to Mudzwiti, his mother inculcated in him an eye for business and to always strive to see the missing link at a young age. ‘
“I started doing errands for my mother at a very young age in the ghetto in Sisk suburb where I grew up and this made me develop business acumen at a very tender age. I want to dedicate the San Siro to the people of Masvingo and especially my mother who has been the biggest inspiration in my life,’’ he said.
He also paid homage to the Second Republic under President Mnangagwa for creating a conducive business environment that allows everyone with unique ideas and the right mentality to thrive.
‘’The President has always been saying Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo and that is a challenge to us the young people, we were able to built the San Siro because President Mnangagwa threw down the gauntlet to us the young and we must be equal to the task and see where there are lacunas and move to fill those gaps as we continue to build our great nation so that we can have something to pass on to the future generations,’’ said Mudzwiti.
The San Siro proprietor is happily married and has three kids.
For Mudzwiti, the San Siro will undoubtedly push the frontiers of entertainment and leisure in Masvingo from its towering standpoint on the shores of Hillside range of mountains and the serene Masvingo provincial heroes acre.
