NEWBOYS Scottland FC are really showing that they are a very ambitious football project.
The ZIFA Northern Region Division One newboys have turned to former Warriors skipper, William Mugeyi, to help their coaching staff.
Mugeyi, just like Scottland FC, has his roots in Mabvuku.
He spent the best part of his career in South Africa, where he is based, and his best moment with the Warriors came when he guided them to success in the COSAFA Cup.
He has been helping the newboys with their training sessions and watched their league match against Golden Eagles, which ended in a goalless draw, at Ellis Robins on Saturday.
He also watched the two Division One league matches between Harare City and Karoi United and Craneborne Bullets and Shamva Mine, which also ended in draws.
Club owner, Scott Sakupwanya, said Mugeyi was just helping his home team.
“Remember he is one of us, he is from Mabvuku, like all of us, and he is here to help us in one or two areas,” said Sakupwanya.
“He is someone who really cares for his community and this is a community project.
“We have to bring in all the best football brains from Mabvuku because this is a people’s project and we can only do well if we are united as a community.”
