ZIMBABWE Cricket (ZC) chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani has been appointed Deputy Chairperson of the International Cricket Council (ICC), becoming the first Zimbabwean to occupy the influential position.
Mukuhlani succeeds Imran Khwaja, who has stepped down from the ICC Board.
The appointment represents another significant milestone for Zimbabwean cricket administration and comes as the country prepares to co-host the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup with South Africa and Namibia.
Mukuhlani also chairs the Africa Cricket Association and represents ZC on the ICC Board. He currently serves on the ICC Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee and the Nominations Committee, while chairing the HR and Remuneration Committee.
His elevation comes at a crucial period for African cricket, with the 2027 World Cup set to return the global tournament to the continent for the first time in 24 years.
