MULTICHOICE Zimbabwe has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Bulawayo and the wider Matabeleland region following the official opening of a new, modern branch in the city last week.

The company relocated from its former premises along George Silundika Street, which closed on January 31, to a more accessible facility at the Bambanani Building, 84 Jason Moyo Street.
The official opening ceremony drew local stakeholders, customers and company executives, with MultiChoice Zimbabwe general manager Siyabulela Jemsana describing the move as a strategic investment aimed at improving customer service and accessibility.
“This relocation represents much more than a change of address. It is about positioning ourselves better to serve our customers. As a business that puts customers at the centre of what we do, we heard Bulawayo’s feedback on relocating our branch to better serve you,” said Jemsana.
He said the new space was designed to provide easier access, greater convenience and a more welcoming environment for subscribers.
Jemsana said Bulawayo remains a key market for the broadcaster.
“Bulawayo and the entire Matabeleland region are extremely important and strategic to MultiChoice Zimbabwe. This city has consistently shown strong loyalty to the DStv brand, and it is our responsibility to match that loyalty with service that is efficient, accessible, and delivered with warmth and care,” he said.

He described the new branch as a tangible demonstration of the company’s long-term commitment to the region.
“By investing in this new home, we’re sending a clear message: Bulawayo matters to us, and we’re here for the long term.”
Highlighting the company’s continued engagement with the city under the chairmanship of Peter van Deventer, Jemsana cited several recent initiatives, including the launch of Shaka Ilembe Season Two, the ZIMnandi anti-piracy campaign and the donation of desks and chairs to Nketa Primary School through a sustainability project.
He also confirmed plans for increased community engagement and more customer-focused initiatives in Bulawayo and Matabeleland in the coming months.
Senior executives, including head of marketing Brightwell Manyerenyere, head of corporate affairs and PR Gerald Ngonyamo and Bulawayo branch manager Sharon Mutsikwi, attended the ceremony as Jemsana cut the ribbon to officially open the branch.
The relocation comes amid a slight increase in Value Added Tax (VAT) introduced earlier this year. However, MultiChoice Zimbabwe assured subscribers that the 0.5 percentage point adjustment will not result in higher DStv subscription fees.
Customers are also benefiting from the ongoing “We’ve Got You” promotion, which allows new, active and reconnected subscribers to access content from a higher package at the price of their current subscription at no additional cost. The promotion runs from January 1 to February 28.
Subscribers can also expect uninterrupted access to premium programming following MultiChoice Group parent company CANAL+’s expanded multi-year partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, ensuring continued availability of popular channels and content across the platform.
The opening event, directed by Arthur Evans, featured entertainment including a flashmob, while long-serving customers were recognised for their loyalty. One of them, Everisto Chiriga, who has subscribed for 27 years, welcomed the move. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
