Intelligence supplied by India led to the arrest of Zahir (40), a resident in Sarlahi Terai, near the border with India, says the state-run daily, Gorkhapatra.

Police reports say the man was engaged in “suspicious activities” at a rented apartment in Baluwatar, a high-class neighbourhood in Katmandu, also seat of the Prime Minister’s residence.
Zahir dialled and received phone calls liked to the blasts in India’s financial capital, and sent mails on the matter from his cell phone.

The daily says Zahir was arrested last week but the information was not disclosed and the Police in Nepal has made no comments.
Mumbai’s July 13th fatal bombings produced 20 deaths and 130 wounded and India’s security forces have not found a solid trail leading to the perpetrators.

Considering its open border with Nepal, India estimates that behind many of the terrorist attacks lie people with some connection to the neighbour nation, whether through arms trafficking and hired hit men or as the logistics suppliers. – Prensa Latina.
