Munashe Private High School, the home of science education

MONEY makes the world go round. Likewise, science makes life tick; it provides solutions to teething problems worldwide.

New technologies and equipment are meant to make life easier for us.

This can only come about, courtesy of scientific research, hence the need to vigorously pursue the study of science subjects.

Munashe Private High School has gone a step further in that direction. The school offers science subjects that learners can pursue. They include Biology, Physics and Chemistry (BPC).

The BPC students, as they are commonly referred to, constitute that group which pursues pure science education, with the aim of eventually pursuing careers in the science field.

It is encouraging to note that young learners at the school are in capable hands in their endeavours.

The Science Department is headed by the highly qualified and experienced Biology teacher, Ms Ellen Kwembeya, affectionately known as “MacKean”, after the author of the well-known book “Introduction to Biology”.

The dynamic chemistry teacher is Mr Amos Chapwanya, who is also the deputy principal.

Physics is a mind-boggling subject. However, Mr Bigmore Tembosande teaches the subject with ease.

The creative and innovative science team has come up with a makeshift science laboratory. Here, experiments are conducted in all the three science subjects offered at our school.

There is excitement among the learners doing pure science subjects, as they endeavour to showcase their prowess. The practical side of science education is a great motivator.

The launch of the satellite ZimSat-1 has come our way as a great challenge. Young learners at Munashe Private High School are aiming to reach such levels.

A drone or something scientifically magnificent may be worked out by young scientists within the school.

Innovation is the way to go as science takes the lead.
