THE Zimbabwe senior national soccer team will on Tuesday face Rwanda in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C encounter in South Africa, boosted by the return of vice-captain Marshal Munetsi.
The Warriors’ hopes of reaching the global showpiece were extinguished on Friday night following a 1-0 defeat to Benin in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Despite the setback, Michael Nees’ charges will be aiming to finish their qualifying campaign on a positive note. The clash presents Zimbabwe with an opportunity to restore pride and build momentum ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals set for Morocco in December.
Munetsi, who missed the Benin tie due to suspension after accumulating yellow cards, is back in contention. His availability could see Nees reshuffle his starting line-up.
The Warriors continue to play their “home” matches in South Africa as the country still lacks a CAF-approved stadium.
Kick-off is at 6pm at Orlando Stadium.
