AT least, one Zimbabwean international footballer featured for a winning team in one of the Euro Big Leagues at the weekend.
Marshall Munetsi played for 27 minutes but helped Stade Reims edge Nantes 2-1 on Sunday in a French Ligue 1 match.
It’s now SIX games without defeat for Reims.
They are now in 11th place on the table.
Munetsi started from the bench and was introduced in the 63rd minute when it was still goalless.
Folarin Balogun scored the winner, from the penalty spot, nine minutes from the end.
After a fairly balanced first half, both teams returned to produce a tough duel littered by fouls.
Nantes continued to defend and Balogun saw his shot shave the post in the 70th minute.
The forward, on loan from Arsenal, then had a header pushed away from the line eight minutes later.
However, three minutes later, he produced the decisive moment of the match by converting from the spot.
Stade Reims then held on to their advantage for a hard-fought win. – Sports Reporter/Stade Reims
