ZIMBABWE international midfielder Marshall Munetsi has now scored six goals in the French Ligue 1 this season, one better than his five goals from the 2020/21 period.

His sixth of the season, which is his highest for the club came at the weekend when he scored to help his Stade De Reims side to a 3-0 victory over Nantes.

His performance at the weekend has seen him named in WhoScored.com’s Ligue 1 Team of the Week for match day 29.

On top of the six goals, in his 25 league appearances, Munetsi has bagged three assists.

Reims are in position seven on the Ligue 1 standings with 11 wins, 13 draws and five defeats in the 29 matches played so far.

Munetsi made his Ligue 1 fixture for Reims on September 1, 2019 as a substitute against Lille at the age of 23 years and 71 days.

The midfielder’s impressive outings in Ligue 1 have seen the player linked with a move to England where Burnley, Watford and Bournemouth are said to be interested in signing the Zimbabwean international.

Munetsi joined Reims in July 2019 from South Africa’s Orlando Pirates. Last month, Munetsi honoured for playing 100 matches for Reims.  -@innocentskizoe
