Munetsi on Wolves radar

Sports Writer

WARRIORS midfield enforcer, Marshall Munetsi, is reportedly close to securing a move to English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Munetsi (28), a former Orlando Pirates player, has delivered exhilarating performances in midfield for French Ligue 1 side Stade Reims, scoring 15 goals since joining from Orlando Pirates in 2020.

Wolves are aiming to bolster their squad in the current transfer window to enhance their chances of avoiding relegation, as they are 17th in the table with just 19 points from 24 matches.

French football publication Foot Mercato reports that Munetsi

is on Wolves’ radar, and the Vitor Pereira-coached side wants to “offer Reims a very big cheque” for the Zimbabwean star, whose contract expires in 2027.

The transfer would make Munetsi potentially the second Warriors international to play for Wolves, following his Zimbabwe teammate, Tawanda Chirewa.

Another Warriors hopeful, Leon Chiwome, who is currently injured, also plays for the Premier League side.
