ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE side Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly chasing Zimbabwe national football team vice captain Marshall Munetsi as their prime target on transfer deadline day.

Reports in France and England are suggesting the 28-year-old midfielder was close to making the move from French Ligue 1’s Stade de Reims after negotiations between the two sides reached an advanced stage.

According to Daily Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath, an agreement is close.

However, with the deadline day set to end in a few hours, the Molineux club will have to act swiftly in order to get the deal over the line.

“Wolves are close to agreeing a deal with Reims for Marshall Munetsi. The 28-year-old Zimbabwe international has been a regular in Ligue 1 for five seasons and targeted to bolster Vitor Pereira’s midfield,” McGrath wrote on X.

Wolves are also home to another Zimbabwean international Tawanda Chirewa and striker Leon Chiwome, who also carries Zimbabwean heritage.
