GOSPEL musician, Innocent Mungandaire, recently launched his third solo album, titled Panobudika at New Revelation Church in Zengeza, Chitungwiza.
Backed by The Praises, Mungandaire recorded the nine-track album at three different studios.
The album features tracks; Mwanangu, Chidhanana, Mirira, Presence, Muri Mwari, Chireve, (Divine Studios) Dzoka, Vimba Naye Jesu (Mount Zion) while the ninth track, Tiri Vakundi, was done at CJ Studios.
In an interview on the sidelines of the album launch, Mungandaire – who is a backing vocalist to Mathias Mhere – said the tracks on the album all seek to spread the message of hope.
“In life, we encounter different and difficult situations but we can conquer these as long as we put God in front of everything that we do.
“I was also inspired by the urge to continue my father’s legacy,” said the young gospel singer, whose late father Fanuel Mungandaire, was a backing vocalist to Pastor Charles Charamba.
The launch was attended by several musicians and other artists.
Mhere said The Praises frontman was destined for great heights.
“I feel very proud of the young man, he is talented.
“We should continue to support him.
“Panobudika is testimony of his talent and his music will take him to far-away places,” he said.
The upcoming gospel singer said that he started singing while doing Grade Two when he was invited into the school choir.
He also performed at the Silver Jubilee in 2005 as part of the traditional dance ensemble from his school.
“Later, I wrote a song on HIV/Aids for a competition in which I came second.
“Music runs in our family and continuing my father’s legacy is the best way of honouring him.
“We are busy reworking Mbiri Kunashe, off his album Toshumira Nezviripo (2010).”
Mungandaire added he was part of the Praise and Worship team at the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe Church’s Bethel Assembly in Zengeza, Chitungwiza.
