Mungoshi’s new book tackles cancer, HIV

come out soon. The novel is a topical piece, which deals with the story of two main characters, one with cancer and the other one living with HIV.
It could not come at a more relevant time as the country battles to overcome the problem of HIV and Aids while also fighting the increase in non-communicable diseases including cancer. Mungoshi’s family is seeking to publish the work privately and are appealing for financial aid to get it on the bookstore shelves.

Many Zimbabweans have been greatly saddened by the illness that struck Mungoshi last year resulting in the illustrious author getting into a coma for some time.
Although not yet fully recovered, Mungoshi is now out of the coma.

The writer, best known for his novels “Waiting for rain”, “Coming of The Dry Season”, “Kunyarara Hakuzi Kutaura”, and the short story collection “Ndiko Kupindana Kwemazuva”, is one of the literary powerhouses of the country with several local and international awards to his name.

“Branching Streams Flow in the Dark” was written before Mungoshi was taken ill and the typeset is ready.
