THE race for the ticket to progress in the Mashonaland West final of the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup preliminary rounds will reach a climax when seasoned rivals Crocodile FC take on Norton Big Boy at Mkushi Training Depot this afternoon.
The two sides have been doing well in the ZIFA Mash West Division 2B South and will battle it out in a match expected to pull a huge crowd.
Munhumutapa Challenge Cup is one of the richest and biggest knockout tournaments in Africa.
Norton Big Boys and Crocodile have done well along the way to have reached the qualifiers finals.
Crocodile goalkeeper Anyway Kachuta says they are not scared of their opponents but will give them a good run for their money.
Kachuta, who is known for his crucial saves that have seen his side progress this far, says they worked hard in training this week ahead of the clash.
“We came a long way in this race and managed to draw some games this season, but we learned a lot. Now we are ready for the final,” he said.
“Norton Big Boys are a strong side that has seasoned players who have seen it all in the top flight. They have quality players like Oscar Machapa and Rodrick Mutumwa. But I trust my defenders and I.
“This is a big game for us and our fans, so we will give maximum concentration,” said Kachuta.
The winner from this final will face the winner from the other division.
