FROM a single car operating in a cabin in one of the buildings in Harare, Murare Car Rental has managed to spread its services to most cities across Zimbabwe and now boasts a fleet of more than 150 cars employing about 120 people.

The company, which was established in 2016, now has offices in Harare, Mutare, Bulawayo, Victoria Falls and Masvingo, all in an attempt to reach out to potential clients in all corners of the country.

In an interview at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) yesterday, Murare Car Rental Harare branch manager, Mr Shingirirai Kakowa said from the start as a company, they wanted to improve customer experience as far as car renting is concerned.

He said this motivated them to establish many branches across the country and plans are underway to open more branches in the remaining cities and towns.

“We used to have a single cab, which was my director’s vehicle when the idea to establish the company was mooted. We resolved that once we established the company, we had to provide a seamless service to enable us to grow the business. It has worked according to our plan hence today we are proud owners of more than 150 vehicles that are servicing the five branches of Murare Car Rental,” said Mr Kakowa.

He said the company values its customers’ convenience and as such was striving to open as many branches in order to bring services closer to them.

“We understand that we deal with vehicles which can break down anytime so we are doing our best to reduce the waiting time in the event of a breakdown by providing a relief car from the nearest branch,” said Mr Kakowa.

He said the company’s fleet consists of high quality vehicles, which include Toyota Hilux Off Road trucks, that is, D4D, GD6 and SUVs among other well-known brands.

Mr Kakowa said from renting a cabin in 2016, the company is now the proud owner of the whole building which is now housing Murare Car Rental in Harare.

Meanwhile, Mr Kakowa said his company is exhibiting at this year’s trade fair after management was inspired by the theme: “Innovation: Catalyst for Industrialisation and Trade” hence the company has embraced the use of online platforms, which include all social media platforms to promote brand visibility to both local and the diaspora community.

He said plans were underway to spread the company’s wings beyond the borders to service the diaspora community. — @SikhulekelaniM1
