NGEZI Platinum Stars striker, Delic Murimba, is having an unseen impact, despite the team’s tough campaign.
It’s his first season at the Mhondoro side, since moving from Triangle, he has been shouldering the scoring burden.
The 24-year-old has bagged seven goals and provided four assists in a season which has seen the club being guided by three different coaches.
Under such circumstances, it’s difficult for a new acquisition at the team, particularly a striker, to enjoy a fine run.
But, Murimba appears to be finding his way to make an impact.
His goals are probably the only reason why Madamburo are still entertaining hopes for a top four finish.
It’s very unlikely he can dislodge league’s leading scorer, William Manondo of CAPS United, who has netted 15 times.
The former Hwange striker says he is keen to hit double figures before the end of the campaign.
“It has not been a good season for us.
“As players we should not be shy to take the blame because we are the ones who have been playing.
“It’s very unfortunate that things haven’t been going according to the plan.
“But, I believe we have a good squad, which is capable of getting the job done.
“We are going to fight for the badge to finish in a respectable position.
“Our target is to finish in the top four and everyone is working hard towards that objective.”
Murimba forced his name onto the country’s football circles when he jointly won the COSAFA Under-20 Golden Boot, with South Africa’s Lyle Foster, after netting five times.
