THE high-octane world of fitness takes centre stage this Saturday as Musabvunda—a homegrown sportswear brand synonymous with grit and grind—unleashes season three of the Musabvunda Biggest Loser Challenge at Blakiston Primary School in Harare.
Driven by founder and fitness enthusiast Kudzai Pasipanodya, the contest promises a full-throttle spectacle of strength duels, fitness gauntlets, and adrenaline-charged aerobathon sessions, led by a host of top local coaches.
Now in its third year, the competition has evolved into one of the capital’s most anticipated grassroots fitness events, drawing athletes, trainers and transformation hopefuls from across the city.
“We’re excited to be back with season three of the Musabvunda Biggest Loser,” said Pasipanodya. “This event is the heartbeat of our brand—celebrating discipline, endurance and personal growth. We’ve learned a lot from the past two editions, and this year promises to be even better.”
This weekend’s edition will act as a curtain-raiser to a packed Musabvunda fitness calendar, culminating in the flagship event—the Musabvunda Half-Marathon—scheduled for May 11, also at Blakiston Primary.
“The response from athletes, coaches, and associations has been overwhelming,” Pasipanodya added. “We’ve received incredible support, especially from the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe, and we’re building something that goes beyond just a race or a fitness challenge.”
At the heart of Musabvunda’s mission is a simple but profound goal: to inspire a culture of wellness, fitness and personal transformation, particularly among young people and urban communities.
“We are trying to build a movement—one that champions a healthy lifestyle,” said Pasipanodya. “Our partners believe in that vision too, and we’re grateful for their support. We’re expecting a great turnout, especially on May 11 when we host the half-marathon.”
From sweat-drenched showdowns in the strength wars to the communal joy of an aerobathon under open skies, the Musabvunda experience blends athletic performance with lifestyle advocacy. It’s more than just a contest—it’s a call to action for a fitter, healthier Zimbabwe.
