TATENDA GORA is arguably the most popular Zimbabwean player in the Botswana Premier League at the moment.
He won the 2024-2025 Botswana FNB Premier Soccer League Defender of the Season award after a stellar performance for Gaborone United.
Gora, 27, is a former Greenfuel player who has rediscovered himself in the Botswana Premier League (BPL).
Gora’s former teammate at Greenfuel, Taffy Morris Musamba, has also used the BPL to reignite what looked like a faded career.
Musamba, who turns 20 in December, made his debut for Black Lions last weekend and inspired the club to their first win of the season.
Black Lions, who are owned by Zimbabwean businessman Tendani Sebata, had lost all their opening matches of the season until last weekend.
“A lot of things happened to me last year and I was down. I had health issues, also a bit of wayward behaviour,” Musamba told Zimpapers Sports Hub.
“At some point last year I found solace in cheerleading at Scottland FC matches in Division One.
“It all looked gloomy until a move to Dulis materialised. It was at Dulis that I was discovered by scouts from Black Lions and I am happy I am now playing top-flight football again.”
Beitbridge-based football enthusiast, Biggie “BIG” Mabhidhi, described Musamba as a player capable of one day representing the Warriors.
“That boy is so talented,” said Mabhidhi.
“When I heard about his demise I immediately brokered a move to Dulis because I knew his potential.”
