Musclemania Zim contest on cards

The event has attracted a lot of interest with eight hulks, based in Botswana, and three from South Africa saying their were interested in taking part.
Musclemania Zimbabwe, a breakaway faction from the main Zimbabwe National Bodybuilding and Fitness Association, are hosting the competition.
Tofara Moyo, the secretary for Musclemania Zimbabwe, is hopeful that their competition will leave a lasting impression as they have managed to secure some good prizes.
“Last year we were part of the team that hosted the Mr Iron Man and we managed to secure a Toyota Fun Cargo and a residential stand for the winners.
“So we want to show people that bodybuilding can be rewarding and this is why we have such good prizes again.
“The overall winner will get the vehicle while we also have household goods like lounge suites and refrigerators,” said Moyo. Reigning Mr Pro-Fitness champion, Victor Hungwe, is expected to enter the contest and be installed as one of the favourites.
Vincent Kandiero, the man who won the Mr Iron Man last year, is also likely to enter the show alongside the athlete he piped for the crown, Isaac “Sugar” Chimuchenga.
Eddie Marondera, the 2010 Mr Novice winner, veteran Zumailer Eusen-Maman and Patson Chatedzuka, who is a police officer, are also expected to compete.
“So far entries are still coming in and we are hoping to get nearly 90 contestants.
“I was talking to Champion Champion, who is a Zimbabwean-based in Botswana, and he hinted that he is coming with eight athletes.
“South Africa are likely to bring one senior and two juniors while we have also had enquiries from Zambia.
“Locally, all the provinces should be sending their top athletes,” said Moyo.
There is also a category for the women where Christine Matange will be out to consolidate her status as one of the leading athletes in the sport in Zimbabwe. Moyo said they have also included a section for athletes with physical disabilities.
