MUSIC promoter and successful Mashonaland West farmer, Sikhangezile Gumbo, has the Raffingora community at heart.
The award-winning farmer will spoil farm workers and villagers with a show this Friday, featuring Alick Macheso.
As has become the norm, the annual party will be held at Gumbo Nite Club New Complex.
In an interview with H-Metro, Mama Gumbo – as the promoter is fondly known said;
“As a successful farmer, I always respect my workforce and villagers who normally support us during our time of harvesting and cropping seasons.
“I have made it a tradition that we host Macheso since he is popular here.
“Over the years, we would alternate between Macheso and the late Tongai Moyo.
“Following the death of Dhewa, we decided to engage Macheso, who is also our brand ambassador.
“This event is a bit special for the villagers and farm workers who are starved of entertainment.
“It is my hope that everything goes according to plan as we host Macheso at our new complex.
“We are happy with the preparations and it is my hope that everything goes according to script.”
Mama Gumbo is one of the female promoters who have managed to stand the heat in showbiz alongside Barbara “Mama Red Rose” Chikosi and Wanisayi “Mahwindo” Mutandwa.
